From a Special friend

This was written to me by a special friend. Marjie Cannon same last name, no relation but sisters of the heart.
THANKYOU so much Hon I will always remember your kind snf thoughtful words.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Thanks all for your sweet comments on my last blog...
and on my guestbook!!1
I want to put something in here that came in my email from
my sweet dear friend
if you click on her name it will take you to her space
but I was just there and she hasn't added any blog's
for a while .. but she does have a page on the side
dedicated to her sweet husband
Kevin ...
Who is now residing in Heaven
Imagine that ---we both have the same last name...
and her birthday is just like a week before mine too
such a wonderful person.. I met her through her dear sweet
departed Husband ...
Kevin Cannon
who passed away a few years ago...
I think I would have fallen into bits and pieces
Has such an amazing faith and although I know she went through
a lot during his sudden unexpected passing ....
she amazed me how she came through it all
What a strong woman she is, if only to be that stong
her strength comes from her faith in God
I have kind of fallen from grace to put it mildly...
I don't know why, but I just don't have that huge faith connection
that so many people do... maybe from things in my past
or from things that I expect to be in the future ...
not sure of any of it right now
but ... here is one of the best email's I have ever gotten from Cat ..
A wonderful Beautiful woman .... whom I will always remember ...
with a smile on my face , when I think of her thoughtfulness
Thanks for this Cat .. you are one of a kind!!
GIFTS FROM DEAR FRIENDS
 -:¦:-♥-:¦:-      -:¦:-♥-:¦:-      -:¦:-♥-:¦:-
I told someone just the other day
That I had friends all over the place
They wondered how I could say I knew
Someone I hadn't met face to face
We write little notes and send out sites
And a few write just to say "Hey"
Then I have a few special ones
That I talk to every single day
At times when I can't sleep at night
I will often go online
There I will find a friend or two
That will help me pass the time
I think sometimes my online friends
Know me more than my neighbors next door
And they don't care if my house is clean
Or what time I came in the night before
So no matter how far apart you are
If you're sincere in the love that you give
Online friends can be as true and as real
As your friends in the place where you live
January 08
HAVE A WONDERFULLY BLESSED DAY
Ten Steps To A Blessed Day
1. Today I will not strike back.
If someone is rude; If someone is impatient;
If someone is unkind... I will not respond in like manner.
Love is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily
angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. (1 Corinthians 13:5)
2. Today I will ask God to bless my "enemy."
If I come across someone who treats me harshly or unfairly,
I will quietly ask God to bless that individual.
I understand the "enemy" could be a family member, neighbor, co-worker or stranger.
For God so loved the world He gave His one and only son so that
whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)
3. Today I will be careful about what I say.
I will carefully choose and guard my words, being certain that
I do not spread gossip, slander or malign anyone in any way.
Love always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres (1 Corinthians 13:7)
4. Today I will go the extra mile.
I will find ways to help share the burden of another person.
I will find ways to make life more pleasant.
Greater love has no one than this that he lay down his life for his friends (John 15:13)
5. Today I will forgive.
I will forgive any hurt or injuries that come my way.
(I will also work to forgive injuries that have been inflicted upon me in the past)
God is love. (1 John 4:8)
6. Today I will do something nice for someone, but I will do it secretly.
I will reach out anonymously and bless the life of another person.
We always thank God for you mentioning you in our prayers.
We continually remember before our God and Father your work
produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your
endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Thessalonians 1:1-2)
7. Today I will treat others as I wish to be treated.
I will practice the Golden Rule -
"Do unto others as you would have them do unto you"- with everyone I encounter.
8. Today I will raise the spirits of someone who is discouraged.
My smile, my words, my expression or support, can make the
difference to someone who is wrestling with life.
If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink. (John 7:37)
9. Today I will nurture my body.
I will eat less
I will eat only healthy foods
I will thank God for my body.
10. Today I will grow spiritually.
I will spend a little more time in prayer today
I will begin reading something spiritual or inspirational today;
I will find a quiet place (at some point during this day) and listen to God's voice.
My Christmas Wish For You
My Christmas wish for you, my friend
Is not a simple one
For I wish you hope and joy and peace
Days filled with warmth and sun
I wish you love and friendship too
Throughout the coming year
Lots of laughter and happiness
To fill your world with cheer
May you count your blessings, one by one
And when totaled by the lot
May you find all you've been given
To be more than what you sought
May your journeys be short, your burdens light
May your spirit never grow old
May all your clouds have silver linings
And your rainbows pots of gold
I wish this all and so much more
May all your dreams come true
May you have a Merry Christmas friend
And a happy New Year, too.
A CHRISTMAS STORY
>>>A CHRISTMAS STORY
>>
>>
>>Bobby was getting cold sitting out in his back yard in the snow. Bobby
>>didn't wear boots; he didn't like them and anyway he didn't own any. The
>>thin sneakers he wore had a few holes in them and they did a poor job of
>>keeping out the cold.
>>
>>Bobby had been in his backyard for about an hour already. And, try as he
>>might, he could not come up with an idea for his mother's Christmas gift.
>>He shook his head as he thought, "This is useless, even if I do come up
>>with an idea, I don't have any money to spend."
>>
>>Ever since his father had passed away three years ago, the family of five
>>had struggled. It wasn't because his mother didn't care, or try, there just
>
>>never seemed to be enough. She worked nights at the hospital, but the small
>
>>wage that she was earning could only be stretched so far.
>>
>>What the family lacked in money and material things, they more than made up
>
>>for in love and family unity. Bobby had two older and one younger sister,
>>who ran the household in their mother's absence.
>>
>>All three of his sisters had already made beautiful gifts for their mother.
>
>>Somehow it just wasn't fair. Here it was Christmas Eve already, and he had
>>nothing.
>>
>>Wiping a tear from his eye, Bobby kicked the snow and started to walk down
>>to the street where the shops and stores were. It wasn't easy being six
>>without a father, especially when he needed a man to talk to. Bobby walked
>>from shop to shop, looking into each decorated window. Everything seemed so
>
>>beautiful and so out of reach. It was starting to get dark and Bobby
>>reluctantly turned to walk home when suddenly his eyes caught the glimmer
>>of the setting sun's rays reflecting off of something along the curb. He
>>reached down and discovered a shiny dime. Never before has anyone felt so
>>wealthy as Bobby felt at that moment.
>>
>>As he held his new found treasure, a warmth spread throughout his entire
>>body and he walked into the first store he saw. His excitement quickly
>>turned cold when salesperson after salesperson told him that he could not
>>buy anything with only a dime.
>>
>>He saw a flower shop and went inside to wait in line. When the shop owner
>>asked if he could help him, Bobby presented the dime and asked if he could
>>buy one flower for his mother's Christmas gift. The shop owner looked at
>>Bobby and his ten cent offering. Then he put his hand on Bobby's shoulder
>>and said to him, "You just wait here and I'll see what I can do for you."
>>
>>As Bobby waited, he looked at the beautiful flowers and even though he was
>>a boy, he could see why mothers and girls liked flowers.
>>
>>The sound of the door closing as the last customer left, jolted Bobby back
>>to reality. All alone in the shop, Bobby began to feel alone and afraid.
>>
>>Suddenly the shop owner came out and moved to the counter. There, before
>>Bobby's eyes, lay twelve long stem, red roses, with leaves of green and
>>tiny white flowers all tied together with a big silver bow. Bobby's heart
>>sank as the owner picked them up and placed them gently into a long white
>>box.
>>
>>"That will be ten cents young man," the shop owner said reaching out his
>>hand for the dime. Slowly, Bobby moved his hand to give the man his dime.
>>Could this be true? No one else would give him a thing for his dime!
>>Sensing the boy's reluctance, the shop owner added, "I just happened to
>>have 20 some roses on sale for ten cents a dozen. Would you like them?"
>>
>>This time Bobby did not hesitate, and when the man placed the long box into
>
>>his hands, he knew it was true. Walking out the door that the owner was
>>holding for Bobby, he heard the shop keeper say, "Merry Christmas, son."
>>
>>As he returned inside, the shop keepers wife walked out. "Who were you
>>talking to back there and where are the roses you were fixing?"
>>
>>Staring out the window, and blinking the tears from his own eyes, he
>>replied, "A strange thing happened to me this morning. While I was setting
>>up things to open the shop, I thought I heard a voice telling me to set
>>aside a dozen of my best roses for a special gift. I wasn't sure at the
>>time whether I had lost my mind or what, but I set them aside anyway. Then
>>just a few minutes ago, a little boy came into the shop and wanted to buy a
>
>>flower for his mother with one small dime.
>>
>>When I looked at him, I saw myself, many years ago. I too was a poor boy
>>with nothing to buy my mother a Christmas gift. A bearded man, whom I never
>
>>knew, stopped me on the street and told me that he wanted to give me ten
>>dollars.
>>
>>When I saw that little boy tonight, I knew who that voice was, and I put
>>together a dozen of my very best roses."
>>
>>The shop owner and his wife hugged each other tightly, and as they stepped
>>out into the bitter cold air, they somehow didn't feel cold at all.
>>
>>This story really touched my heart and soul and very much hit home. We've
>>discussed in the past the need to really listen to God; to always be ready
>>for his subtle messages.  Not only to be ready and listen, but to be
>>willing to really HEAR Him and obey Him.  I believe that many are afraid of
>
>>His messages fearing they will have to give up so much. Ohhhhhhh what they
>>miss out on.
>>
>>I hope you enjoyed this story and God bless you all.
THE LITTLE MATCHSTICK GIRL
HELLO FRIENDS...THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE STORIES
The Little Match-Seller
By Hans Christian Andersen
It was terribly cold and nearly dark on the last evening of the old year, and the snow was falling fast. In the cold and the darkness, a poor little girl, with bare head and naked feet, roamed through the streets. It is true she had on a pair of slippers when she left home, but they were not of much use. They were very large, so large, indeed, that they had belonged to her mother, and the poor little creature had lost them in running across the street to avoid two carriages that were rolling along at a terrible rate. One of the slippers she could not find, and a boy seized upon the other and ran away with it, saying that he could use it as a cradle, when he had children of his own. So the little girl went on with her little naked feet, which were quite red and blue with the cold. In an old apron she carried a number of matches, and had a bundle of them in her hands. No one had bought anything of her the whole day, nor had anyone given her even a penny. Shivering with cold and hunger, she crept along; poor little child, she looked the picture of misery. The snowflakes fell on her long, fair hair, which hung in curls on her shoulders, but she regarded them not.
Lights were shining from every window, and there was a savory smell of roast goose, for it was New-year's eve—yes, she remembered that. In a corner, between two houses, one of which projected beyond the other, she sank down and huddled herself together. She had drawn her little feet under her, but she could not keep off the cold; and she dared not go home, for she had sold no matches, and could not take home even a penny of money. Her father would certainly beat her; besides, it was almost as cold at home as here, for they had only the roof to cover them, through which the wind howled, although the largest holes had been stopped up with straw and rags. Her little hands were almost frozen with the cold. Ah! perhaps a burning match might be some good, if she could draw it from the bundle and strike it against the wall, just to warm her fingers. She drew one out—“scratch!” how it sputtered as it burnt! It gave a warm, bright light, like a little candle, as she held her hand over it. It was really a wonderful light. It seemed to the little girl that she was sitting by a large iron stove, with polished brass feet and a brass ornament. How the fire burned! and seemed so beautifully warm that the child stretched out her feet as if to warm them, when, lo! the flame of the match went out, the stove vanished, and she had only the remains of the half-burnt match in her hand.
She rubbed another match on the wall. It burst into a flame, and where its light fell upon the wall it became as transparent as a veil, and she could see into the room. The table was covered with a snowy white table-cloth, on which stood a splendid dinner service, and a steaming roast goose, stuffed with apples and dried plums. And what was still more wonderful, the goose jumped down from the dish and waddled across the floor, with a knife and fork in its breast, to the little girl. Then the match went out, and there remained nothing but the thick, damp, cold wall before her.
She lighted another match, and then she found herself sitting under a beautiful Christmas-tree. It was larger and more beautifully decorated than the one which she had seen through the glass door at the rich merchant's. Thousands of tapers were burning upon the green branches, and colored pictures, like those she had seen in the show-windows, looked down upon it all. The little one stretched out her hand towards them, and the match went out.
The Christmas lights rose higher and higher, till they looked to her like the stars in the sky. Then she saw a star fall, leaving behind it a bright streak of fire. “Someone is dying,” thought the little girl, for her old grandmother, the only one who had ever loved her, and who was now dead, had told her that when a star falls, a soul was going up to God.
She again rubbed a match on the wall, and the light shone round her; in the brightness stood her old grandmother, clear and shining, yet mild and loving in her appearance. “Grandmother,” cried the little one, “O take me with you; I know you will go away when the match burns out; you will vanish like the warm stove, the roast goose, and the large, glorious Christmas-tree.” And she made haste to light the whole bundle of matches, for she wished to keep her grandmother there. And the matches glowed with a light that was brighter than the noon-day, and her grandmother had never appeared so large or so beautiful. She took the little girl in her arms, and they both flew upwards in brightness and joy far above the earth, where there was neither cold nor hunger nor pain, for they were with God.
In the dawn of morning there lay the poor little one, with pale cheeks and smiling mouth, leaning against the wall; she had been frozen to death on the last evening of the year; and the New-year's sun rose and shone upon a little corpse! The child still sat, in the stiffness of death, holding the matches in her hand, one bundle of which was burnt. “She tried to warm herself,” said some. No one imagined what beautiful things she had seen, nor into what glory she had entered with her grandmother, on New-year's day.
Norm was tasked with taking the Christmas decorations up to the attic for another year's storage. During one trek up the stairs, heavily laden with boxes, he slipped and luckily only fell about two steps before landing square on his behind.
His wife heard the noise and yelled, "What was that thump?"
"I just fell down the stairs," he explained.
She rushed into the room, "Anything broken?!"
"No, no, I'm fine."
There was just a slight pause before his loving wife said, "No, Honey, I meant my decorations? Are any of them broken?"
HUGS
What are Hugs...?
There are no such thing as a bad hug,
only good ones and great ones
Hugs are...
 non fattening and they don't cause cancer or cavities..
all natural with no preservatives, artificial ingredients or pesticide residue...
easy to care for, they are a completely renewable resource..
 non-taxable, fully returnable and energy efficient..
 safe in all kinds of weather
Infact,
Hugs are
especially good for cold and rainy days
Hugs are
 exceptionally effective in treating problems like bad dreams or Monday blues...
Never wait until tomorrow to hug someone you could hug today,
because when you give one,
you get one right back your way!
Cat & Family
At a time like this it's oh so hard;
To know just what to say.
For I know inside you're hurting;
In a very painful way.
Please know that I am with you;
You are in my thoughts and prayers.
And know that I am one of many;
Who feels for you and cares.
Just know that he is now gone home;
And he's in a better place.
And he has seen the Lord above;
And the light from his sweet grace.
In time the pain will fade away;
Along with all your tears.
And you will smile once again;
On shared memories from past years.
Our Deepest Sympathies In Your
Time Of Loss.
Kevin will surely be missed alot
and may he R.I.P.
Love Terrie & Family
